| I am living in my apartment now. I got it about a week ago and have been living in it since last saturday... it is pretty exciting. My parents came last week to move me in and they left today. My dad is worried about gas with the whole gas issue because or Hurricane Ike. I think they enjoyed themselves. I have been sitting in my apartment getting ready for progress reports. I had to load all my information in to the program. It was pretty crazy. I am teaching about the scientific inquiry process. I start measurement at the end of the week. I am not sure how that will go, but we will explore. I am really just still trying to get the feel for what I am doing. In student teaching, I only had an opportunity to teach 1st grade science, and it is a lot different then 6th grade science. Non the less, I learn daily how i should teach these kids. they are a mix of different races, socio-economic statuses, and complex personalities. I love it though. I have been only able to explore here and there. I am making friends with different teachers at school and church. the people in my apartment building seem very nice as well. Currently pete is my favorite... i am stealing his internet. I dont think his name is pete... it is just what this person calls their internet. So i must address it as pete as well. hahaha... I developed a slight cough from sitting inside all day... i am lame! i had things to get done. one less thing to stress over... I just have to print out the reports and plan for the week. so my sunday will be spent mainly at school... i have things i need to move around too. more of my class room things came to NC via the parentals. oh and my birthday is in 1 week! hopefully i will be able to find my camera cord soon... -Rhyan | | |

| I live in North Carolina now. I am official... I have my name badge... I HAVE MY OWN CLASSROOM!!!!! I am overwhelmed but very eager. I move into my new place in september, sometime around the 7th, 8th, or 9th. I have decided that there is a possiblility i might travel for my birthday... I may go to the mountains... go to the ocean or go to charlotte. I have some options. I have been really blessed with my situation. I am living with some friends that teach at the same school as I do. I know them from NMU and IV. Anyway, they have been such a blessing. I keep thanking God for them. my transition would be so much harder if they were not here. I will live in the Pines... I am trying to set up my classroom to the best of my abilities at this time. | I GOT THE JOB IN NORTH CAROLINA!!!! I am waiting to hear back from Newaygo Public Schools for a science and social studies position... OH MY! BUT REGARDLESS, I AM QUITTING BBW!
